As this is a National Holiday and pupils are not usually at school, today I have posted short activities relating to St. Patrick’s Day…learning through play today!
The History of St. Patrick’s Day
St. Patrick’s Day science
Fizzing Leprchaun cauldrons.
Choose a tub that could represent a ‘cauldron’. Put a spoonful of baking soda into the tub with a few drops of food colouring (green or orange) if you have it. Pour in some white vinegar and watch the results!
Dress up in green, make some flags, gather some noisy instruments (saucepans will do) and create your very own St. Patrick’s Day Parade!
Details on how to make a sock puppet are in the video below…just adjust with the colours of green, white and gold (orange).
