Monday 15th-19th June

We are in the month of June now. If children were at school, work would be slowing down a bit with school tours, sports days etc.

For this reason, and also the fact that I have much deputy principal related work & class teacher duties to work on this month in preparation for School re-opening in August/September, I will not be posting work daily but instead putting up a variety of suggested activities children can work on throughout the week if they wish.

This will be the last selection of suggested activities I will be posting on my blog. There are a lot of them so you may dip in and out whenever you want over the coming week/ months.

What can you do to help your child/ children during the summer months:

You can encourage your child to…read, read and read some more! Even listening to ‘read alouds’ has been proven to be beneficial for pupils and developing reading skills. I would also stress the importance of revising number facts throughout the summer to help your child return to school. As usual if you have any questions please contact me…all my contact details are on my home page.

Visit ‘An Féidir Leat?’ You Tube channel (link below) where you will find lots of programmes in Irish presented in a fun way with songs, games, art and more.

I also recommend the lovely You Tube Channel ‘Scéalta le Spraoi’ with lots of ‘read alouds’ as Gaeilge (direct link below). You may not understand every word but with the story illustrations you will get a good understanding of the story and it is an excellent and fun way to listen to the Irish language.
